Energy conservation can be accomplished by increasing the efficiency of equipment and integrating technology into all industrial activities. At TVS Motor, these persistent efforts have resulted in a 15% reduction in specific power consumption and a 20% reduction in specific fuel consumption throughout the years. These targeted efforts to reduce carbon emissions began in 2013 with a reduction in direct emissions, followed by the incorporation of renewable energy [wind and solar] toward the ideal state vision of RE 100. These renewable energy measures resulted in approximately 58,812 tonnes of CO2 emission reductions between 2020 and 2021.

Additionally, the corporation increased the capacity of its 5.9 MW rooftop solar photovoltaic [PV] system and invested in 35 MW of wind energy in Group Captive Mode. Renewable energy will account for 84 percent of total firm energy usage in 2020-21. TVS Motor Company has implemented holistic green initiatives across its production locations in India, including zero-emission plants, water recycling, design for recycling, rainfall collection, and biodiversity conservation.
