"We're observing the history of this sport and what better way than to honor a few of the greats that played and founded the sport over different eras. All of these are players using a heritage which will continue to inspire future generations for many years to come."
The ICC Half of Fame special edition induction process:
The ICC's separate statistician will compile a longlist of ex-players or other important cricketing amounts for every era (dependent on the period where they had their most important effect ) and will be introduced to the Hall of Fame Nominations Committee, together with relevant data and brief commentary.
The Hall of Fame Nominations Committee then proceeds to pick six titles to be shortlisted in each one of the five eras mentioned previously.
The ICC Hall of Fame Voting Academy, consisting of busy Hall of Fame members, a FICA representative, dominant cricket journalists and mature ICC figures, vote on the internet to spot their choices for induction at every one of the five eras.
Results will generate a weighted score, even against which the top two people in each era is going to be inducted in the ICC Hall of Fame. In case of a tie, the players with the most first choice votes will probably take priority.
The ten chosen titles will be officially inducted by means of a digital series on ICC electronic stations.
