BunkerFit - Integrated vernacular health & wellness app, poised to take off
BunkerFit, India's first and only completely free health and wellness application, revealed today that it has raised an undisclosed sum from private investors. Airtel, Umang Bedi (Daily Hunt), Vivek Khemka (Egon Zehnder), Sudhir Singh Dungarpur (Big Four), Dinesh Anand (Grant Thornton), Iskander Lalljee (Grant Thornton), Jatin Aneja (Shardul Amarchand), and a few more angel investors participated in this round.
BunkerFit has developed the industry's first free and accessible health and wellness app, focusing on both physical and emotional well-being. The integrated app was designed with urban and rural consumers in mind, as well as English- and vernacular-speaking consumers, in order to genuinely democratise wellbeing.
With 200 million monetizable vernacular users and a growing digital penetration, the health & wellness services market is on track to reach $6.6 billion in the next several years. While there are numerous players in this arena, no one has yet established a definitive presence.
BunkerFit co-founder Zeba Zaidi stated: "BunkerFit's goal is to get 100 million people active by 2030. India is a global leader in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and lifestyle-related disorders. These are not just for the wealthy metropolitan elite for whom fitness solutions are plenty. We want to reach every Indian who wishes to be more active, and our innovative content delivery system integrates Training, Nutrition, and Mindfulness into an easy-to-follow, easy-to-track solution. This seed round enables us to build out the product beyond the MVP that we launched."
BunkerFit is designed to fill a void in the market by providing unique material for its vernacular audience, engaging them through local personalities, and monetizing without relying on user subscriptions.
BunkerFit's goal as it expands beyond its MVP version is to employ Machine Learning (ML) to personalise each customer experience and ensure that regardless of where a user is on their fitness path, they receive unique insights and value from using the app.
BunkerFit was formed by Adnan Adeeb and Zeba Zaidi, who were formerly responsible for the popular Devils Circuit races. The company's mission is to make physical and mental wellness solutions accessible to the general public. In March 2021, India's only all-in-one FREE fitness app was launched with the goal of getting Indians active, fit, and healthy.
