Airtel selects Tejas Networks for optical network expansion
Tejas Networks said today that it has been chosen by Bharti Airtel, India's leading communications solutions provider, to expand the capacity of Airtel's optical network in important urban cities.
Tejas will supply, install, and support its cutting-edge TJ1600 DWDM/OTN solutions to expand Airtel's optical networks to the edge, enabling 5G backhaul, B2B services, and broadband applications. Airtel will be able to provide a superior experience to its consumers as data usage in India continues to expand at a rapid pace.
Mr. Randeep Sekhon, Bharti Airtel's Chief Technology Officer, stated, "Airtel has been investing heavily in boosting the capacity of its metro network in order to prepare for 5G and to meet the rising bandwidth usage by fixed-line and enterprise clients.
