Aditi Ashok and Tvesa Malik climb the leaderboard at the Aramco Saudi Ladies International

Aditi Ashok and Tvesa Malik of India climbed the leaderboard and made it into the weekend on Day 2 of the Aramco Saudi Ladies International presented by PIF with a pair of 3-under par 69s.

Ashok felt right at home at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, after a one-over par 73 on Day 1 propelled her to a tie for 16th place.

"I've had a couple of tournaments in a row, so I think I'm just getting into the swing of things." I'm feeling good, and I think I'm on the right track right now. Yesterday was a little rough - I think I was a little sick, so I wasn't feeling too well, but I think coming back from that and shooting 69 today was good.

"I just made a few mistakes." I had a bogey and a double bogey, but otherwise it was a good day. "I made a lot of good shots."

"It feels good, I played last year and I think I did okay," she said of her return to the Red Coast event after competing in the inaugural tournament last year. I had the impression that I could have done better. So it's good to be back, good to play today, especially after yesterday's performance."

On a day when tournament leader Alice Hewson of England reached 9-under par after a blistering 8-under par 64, Indian compatriot Tvesa Malik carded a 69 to move into the Top 30 in tied 27th place, with a chance to make more progress over the weekend.

"I hit some good shots [today], especially on the front nine," Malik said. Because it was quite windy, I took a few chances and just fed off of that.

"I finished on a low note yesterday, so I really wanted to get in a good round and prove to myself that I can kind of get the course and get it right once, and I'm glad I did, I'm excited to play."

"It's so nice [here in Jeddah], the golf course is tough, it's a really, really good test," he says.

The $1 million Aramco Saudi Ladies International presented by Public Investment Fund continues tomorrow through Sunday at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club, followed by the Aramco Team Series – Jeddah, the last of four new $1 million team tournaments added to the LET this season, November 10-12th.
